On a grand scale, the use of MHT Induction Lighting has been equated to planting acres of trees, removing thousands of cars from the road, saving natural gas, and reducing oil demand. Although the immediate impact of Energy Savings is clear to everyone from a financial and environmental perspective, there are many “downstream” impacts of having a light source that lasts over 100,000 hours (4 to 7 times longer than traditional sources).
- Fewer materials to be recycled for replacement lamps/ballasts
- Fewer trucks on the road to service fixtures for replacement/troubleshooting
- Fewer freight (trucks/ships) to deliver products to warehouses
- Less BTU’s for cooling as Induction Lighting operates at much lower temperatures
MHT’s Induction Lighting is also more recyclable that traditional sources and even LED.
- Significantly less Mercury used (<5mg).
- Mercury is a solid amalgam which is easily recycled (see MHT’s Recycling Program).
- The rest of the product is Aluminum and Glass which can also be easily recycled.
- LED’s burn out frequently and must be disposed of when no longer functional
- Important to note – spent LED’s are NOT LANDFILL FRIENDLY and cannot be recycled
Induction Lighting is truly the best lighting to “GO GREEN”.
